The Heart of the Gold Country
"There is a rich, almost seductive opulence to this brick 1879 hostelry that comes at you in whispers and peeks." (Sunset Magazine) Featured in Wine Spectator Magazine as a recommended place to stay in the Sierra Foothills and Gold Country wine regions. Step back in time to 1879 when the Gold Rush was in full swing, Amador City was a bustling mining town, and the Imperial Hotel opened its doors to prosperous Victorian hotel guests. Today the miners are gone, but Amador City retains its historic character.
