A Taste of the Arts
Put this on your calendar for the new year: Sign-Ups for “A Taste of the Arts” begin January 2 and close February 19 -- for the actual event on Saturday, March 10.
A Taste of the Arts is an annual one-day intensive “mini arts institute” presented by AmadorArts locally since 2011. Attendees return again and again for the thrill of choosing three 90-minute workshops from 22 options, given by some of the area’s top artists.
The event specifically targets adults and junior and high school students.
Feel like you want to express yourself by doing a little art? But don’t know how or what’s right for you? From a menu of 22 classes this time, you can “take a taste” of the arts.
The cost for three classes, supplies included (one exception), is $35 for adults; $15 for junior and high school students.
Pre- Registration is required. Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of 15-20 students for most classes. Therefore it’s important to register early. Registration will begin January 2 when our website, www.amadorarts.org , will have the entire form to complete and pay with a payment through PayPal. The website also has a complete list of artists, their bios, and class descriptions. A brochure will also be available with the Registration Form and can be mailed in with payment. Deadline for registering will be February 19.
Since the beginning, the volunteer Coordinator of A Taste of the Arts has been Sue Lagomarsino. She’s been hard at work and has gathered an amazing set of 16 artists this year. Some of the NEW classes offered will be Alcohol Ink Tiles, Wearable Art, Scarf Painting, and a Ukulele class. Want to do further exploration with artists of past years? Lorra Lee Rose will be back with feather art; Katherine Venturelli with print making; Marchand Heimann with acrylic painting; and Millie Butler with Ikebana.
Don’t miss this fun-filled day!
